50 sales!

Not to toot my own horn...ok it is tooting my own horn, but bear with me, cause I'm excited. My etsy shop just made it's 50th sale! yeah baby! It's pretty exciting, especially since I didn't really know what to expect when I started this up a month and a half ago. It's fun, it's creative, and rewarding, so I hope to keep it up after the baby comes. Of course...we will see how that goes. :-D Rory is happy because I've just about paid off my sewing machine. (which was MY equivalent of his Playstation 3 but whatever) It helps fund my crafting addiction, so that's a plus!

In life news...we are signing papers, hopefully later today, for the house to lift our contingencies and get going on closing escrow! Our realtor said it could take anywhere from 8 to 14 business days. Our loan guy thinks possibly we could have the house by around June 10th! I sure hope everything goes smoothly. We have all these ideas for the house, but no house to do them too yet. :-D Wish us luck!

Pile o' baby stuff

I just had to post this picture of all the baby stuff I've collected. haha. It's just sitting in a sad pile under our window waiting for a room to be put in! We do have furniture too, it's out in the garage gathering dust. A lot of these bags contain..... baby clothes. DUH! What can I say...I am a sucker for cute baby clothes...at least a lot of them were on clearance. And there are a lot from Cassy. Alright, just one and a half bags. My brother got the baby the funniest onesie from San Francisco, it's an Alcatraz prison striped onesie and it says Reject: TOO CUTE. hehe. Rory said he's gonna put her in that every time he dresses her. Guess I will have to limit how much he does that...hehe. Speaking of places to put this stuff, the title company FINALLY appraised the house, and we're lifting our contingencies tomorrow or the day after. Then we just have to get the loan stuff done, and it's up to them how quickly it could go through. Our realtor said it could be as soon as 8 business days, or up to 14. I hope it's closer to 8! So, good news anyways. We are just so anxious to start working on the house, and get moved before the baby comes...and before I am way too huge to do anything. Wish us luck...

baby stuff....

Monterey-this time it was sunny!

We went to Monterey a few months ago and the weather was awful! I posted about it here. Our awesome Lance and Pettit cousins are in town for a little bit, so we headed down again, but the weather was soo much nicer. People actually got sunburned! whoa. I think I can explain it in the pictures, and this is a picture heavy post-so look out! There was just so many good pics, I couldn't help it. hehe.

Rory off playing mountain goat.

aww pretty pic!

Jarom and his sidekick.

cute little seals playing. They were kissing, we swear we saw it!

Jarom doing his seal impression. Pretty good eh?

The belly in action. (mine) hehe.

We couldn't stop laughing...this lady was dragging her poor cat around the beach on a leash. hehe!

Crazy people...

on the glass bottomed boat ride...from left: Rory, Uncle Shawn, Courtenay, Jarom, Logan, and Anne, his fiance.

Also on the ride: from left: My invisible Grandpa, Grandma Lance, Aunt Laura, Uncles Matt and Scott, Janae and Joanna.

the birds had commandeered this boat.

The sea lions (seals?) were so cute, but smelly.

This one was posing for us...

...and this one got jealous...

Courtenay came up with the idea to see how many people could fit in this phone booth...they fit 8 people! Jarom, Jordan, Janae, Courtenay, Anne, Lance, Joanna, and Rory all got in there. haha.

someone's squishing Joanna...

Squeeze in there!

Can you see Jordan stuck down at the bottom? lol

30 weeks...

so here is my 30 week pic, me in all my tired and humongous glory. I'm really not tired of being pregnant yet, I'm just really tired. lol. I love feeling her move in there, and move she does! Mostly when I'm trying to fall asleep. She has really bad timing already! haha. It's gotten to the point where bending over to pick something up is a hassle too. Rory laughs every time he hugs me cause the belly gets in the way. But hello-I have a 3 pound baby in there somewhere! Thank you very much. Only 10 or so weeks to go. It seems like the 2nd trimester was gone in a flash. Well, my cousins are here from Utah this weekend, and we're supposed to go see Indiana Jones, so I'm gonna go see what's going on with that. Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone!

At least I don't FEEL as big as I look. haha.

Baby Booties

I've been wanting to try this baby bootie pattern that my cousin Jenni told me about, so I gave it a shot! It was a little tricky, but only took about an hour! Now I just have to make an outfit to match them, haha.

Bigger doll

So I made another one of those dolls last night. Apparently, I was supposed to enlarge the pattern, that's why it was so hard to stuff the legs. I blame it on being pregnant. I am forgetful a lot! Anyways, here is Anastasia's older sister, Matilda. hehe.

Home sweet home

So the inspections went really well today! Better than we thought actually. lol. Just minor issues to take care of. So now we're just sorting everything out, and hopefully will get the process going so that we can start working on it asap. It does need some work. Also, the Prince Caspian Narnia movie was excellent! My whole family went for FHE, and we took up a good portion of a whole row. Joanna has this immense crush on Prince Caspian...(I admit, he is pretty cute) but at the end, he has this AWFUL outfit on. Like totally girly. Gauchos, a skirt, and a ruffly shirt. hehe. Joanna and I were laughing for like a whole minute. So, if you go and see the movie, check out his outfit and you will have a laugh. Rory's really excited to see the new Indiana Jones movie, so I think we'll see that this weekend too. Big week for movies!...and moving...soon. :-D

I love softies!

I think I sewed my fingers numb yesterday! We got home from Stake Conference, I sat down at my computer/sewing machine, and sewed softies til the cows came home. (which they didn't, incidentally. We don't have any cows) They were challenging, but fun. I think I will not make any more for awhile. haha. Today are our home inspections (regular and termite) so wish us luck! Also we're going to see the new Narnia movie with my family. I hope it's good! Will let you know....

Aww the gang's all here.

I named her Anastasia. Those silly little arms and legs took me an hour to turn right side out and stuff. argh. Here is where I found her.

This is Chester the cat. (NOT gerbil or pig or mouse) He was pretty easy. He also has no legs.

This is Tweet Tweet, I made up the pattern for him. It's hard to stuff a beak!

Easy peasy crafts

I have this humungo list of sewing and craft projects I want to try, so I decided to tackle a few this weekend. I made this cute and easy dishtowel apron from a tutorial I found here. It was tricky to get the gathers sewn right at the top, but other than that it only took like 15 minutes. I also have some dishtowels waiting to be messed with, but I don't know how my kitchen will be decorated yet, so they're in limbo right now. haha. Last night while watching 2 or 3 Monk episodes, (awesome show, if you haven't seen it) I embroidered this cute little birdie from a pattern I found here. I'm thinking I will either frame it for the babies room or something. I didn't realize until I was done that it kinda blended in with the fabric, but oh well. Crafting is all about learning from your mistakes I think. Anyways, here are some pics....I OBVIOUSLY missed my calling as a model by the way.

Pregger clothes and crazy mornings

Since the heat wave is coming to the bay area, I decided to get some new pregger tshirts. I've found out that I prefer tshirts to the empire waist type maternity shirts. So I just buy regular shirts in large sizes. They're so comfy! I love tshirts. It's already so warm today, it's supposed to hit 100 degrees later this week. Gag. This should be a fun summer, haha. I don't think "our" house has AC, so I will have to get a swamp cooler or ice bin to sit in. Anyways...this morning was crazy for me! I got up, did two loads of laundry, cleaned up our living space, then saw that I had some orders to get ready for my etsy store, got those orders ready, prepared one custom order, folded the two loads of laundry, wrangled my cat out of a plastic bag, then a box, vaccumed up all the crap that falls on the floor while sewing, (mostly thread) lost said custom order, hunted through the garbage I took out previously, found it UPSTAIRS in the garbage can, (don't worry, it was in a bag) and somewhere in there I also ate breakfast, lunch, and took a shower. Phew! Then, I debated running to the post office, and decided to sit in my chair until it was time to go to work. haha. That was a quick peek into my morning, whether you like it or not! haha.

Rory's contribution to the blog

hehe here is a funny story that Rory showed me.
Thanks hun! All you Nintendo-ers will get a kick out of it.

Cute artwork for the nursery

I just want to plug for another awesome Etsy shop. I ordered this print at Saratams shop last week, and it arrived today! I want to do the nursery in soft pinks, aqua, and off white. So this fit the bill perfectly. We got a cute frame at target and it looks awesome. It's exciting to think that I will have a nursery soon to decorate! I can't wait...

This pic is from her website, but our frame looks really similar, it's just really dark right now and I wanted to post it and I didn't want to wait til tomorrow. So yeah.

We got the house! (pretty much)

Well, the title says it all! We got a call this afternoon from our agent that the bank accepted our offer! As long as all the paperwork, inspections, yada yada, go well, we could have the keys in less than a month! We're pretty excited, I think Rory's in shock a little. As am I. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but yay! I'm so glad we got it. We'll keep you posted as things progress. The house is orange. ;P

Luckily I know a good painter...(my dad is a painting contractor) The mailbox is bright pink also. Yesss! score!

Taggie blankie

Awww so cute! I love this fabric, and I wanted to try making one of those tag blankets for babies. Apparently they like to play with the ribbons...hopefully our baby does! It didn't take very long-and it's so soft and fun! It's pretty small-about 17x17". Fun and fast!

28 weeks later....

28 weeks later....and this is what you get. lol. I feel pretty good actually. No back or pelvic pain yet. I found out this week that I am anemic, which is pretty common in pregnant women, so I just have to take iron supplements...not too bad. It probably is the reason I get so tired so easily though. Oh well! At least there is a reason. Rory thought I was just lazy. haha. Anyways, about 12 weeks (or so) to go...

A house.....I hope

So...we put in another offer on a house today! (forget that stupid townhouse) It is NOT a short sale, thank goodness. It's a bank owned property. We are supposed to hear back from them by monday evening, so everyone, pray, cross your fingers, or whatnot...that we will get this house. I sooo want to be moved by the time this baby comes, and we're running out of time. :-] It's in Gilroy, which would mean a drive to work for Rory, but we'd be closer to my family and multiple baby sitters. (that means you- mom, dad, Jarom, Joanna, Jordan, Janae, and Julia and Josh when you're old enough) muwahahaha. Anyways, we'll keep you posted. Hopefully it's some good news this time!

Itty Bitty baby dress and bow clips

I decided to tackle this little dress yesterday, with no help from my sister or mom. (I hate patterns and always need their help) I do ok with easy straight lines, so this dress was challenging, but not too difficult! I had the material all picked out, so I just went for it. It only took an hour and a half or so, the hardest part was getting the gathers to line up with the bodice. But, it's done! phew. Here is where I got the tutorial....and here's a quick pic.

Also I made some cute ribbon clips. These are prototypes, and need some work, (mostly I need practice with the glue gun) but here's the basic idea!
