It’s a sad day…

This morning when we gave Ally her medicine she was not looking good…not eating and breathing hard. We took her to the vet this afternoon to get a second opinion and see what was going on once and for all. The vet was very kind to us. She said she most likely has feline leukemia, which is a terminal illness. We could go the blood transfusion route to keep her alive, but again, we can’t afford that, and her quality of life would not be very good. So, we made the choice to let her go. I’m crying as I write this, because she was such a sweet cat and deserved a much longer life. The vet said she had probably been suffering from this for the past few months, so it wasn’t the move or baby. If cats have leukemia, often it shows up when they are about a year old. Which is how old Ally was. We’re sad obviously, it’s hard watching Rory pack up her toys and dishes. We both loved her a lot and will miss her little bell around the house. We are glad she’s not in pain anymore though.

Ally was acrobatic, didn’t you know?

One of her favorite snooze spots.

She liked to “help” me scrapbook. 🙂

Ally and me, right after we got her.
