Merry (almost) Christmas!

Wow I can't believe it's almost Christmas! only T-minus 5 days. We have our calendar pretty much full until Christmas, and then afterwards, my family is headed down to Arizona to visit some cousins. We're also going to the Grand Canyon. I've never been, can you believe it? Most of my family vacations as a kid were to Utah for family reunions and such. Poor me. lol. Well, just a little update before we all head into the craziness of Christmas! :-D

Silly cat!

Since we got this new storage unit upstairs in my craft room today, Ally has been trying to climb onto it, into it, all over it. Unfortunately for her, I already put some baskets and boxes on the shelves. So she has no where to jump to! Hilarity ensues. Enjoy! (hehe)

I am Wrap Happy!

I don't know about all you guys, but I ADORE wrapping presents. I love turning on the christmas music, and just wrapping my goodies in beautiful paper and ribbons! It must be the scrapbooker in me. In fact, yesterday we picked out all our paper. When I say we, I mean I did whilst Rory looked bored out of his skull and kept trying to escape out of the aisle. Mostly because I spent a lot of time making sure it all coordinated. Rory said that the wrapping paper aisle was as bad as the scrapbooking aisle! i think he was right! lol. Scrooge! haha not really. He loves the Holidays, he just doesn't like wrapping presents. Luckily he only has to wrap what he buys me. hehe! We've felt like Christmas snuck up on us totally this year! Partially because we spent the first week of it in Hawaii, removed from the "normal" Christmas celebrations. Hearing Christmas music with a Hawaiian twist, and seeing Santa in Hawaiian garb is surreal, if not awesome.

I got our Christmas cards sent out yesterday! They're so cute! I found this great website that makes really high quality photo cards with great color schemes to choose from. I'll post a pic after everyone has a chance to get their cards. This is the first year we've EVER sent out cards. In four+ years of marriage! oh , how sad. I am going to try keeping up with that tradition. I was going to write a letter about the year, but then this year had some low points, high points too, but then I just got tired of thinking about what to write and didn't want to write ANYTHING. That's ok though, cause you guys can read my blog, that's the same thing right? well, happy wrapping to those of you who like it. Happy Holiday season!

Gurgle Gurgle.....

Uh, it's soo wet here! ugh. We had a crazy storm swoosh in here yesterday, and it rained a lot. About 4-6 inches on different parts of Maui according to the news. The wind gusted up to 60-70 MPH. We actually did get out for a little while, we went to the crowded aquarium and lunch, and on the way back had to take a detour because of a flooded road. However, the power went out while we were out, and stayed out until 1:30 in the morning. So we got home, took a nap, and woke up in time to watch the sort of sunset and sit in the dark. We used up the batteries in our camera, laptop, and DVD player, and watched parts of movies before going to bed at 9:00. Here are some crazy pics-none of the pics are ours, or are of areas near us-but they are on the same island.

This is in Kula.

This is in Kahului where the airport is.

This is in Kahana.

I would post our own pictures but then I would have to download them ALL and that would take awhile. I will probably put a slideshow up when we get back...hopefully we will escape on Saturday as planned. We hope the weather will die down enough. Well, I think we're going to go find some breakfast-as our dinner last night was some potato chips we had and half a cookie. YUM! and sooo nutritious.

Update: I am finishing this up 10 hours later. I was typing this up at around 7:00 am and the power went out again!!! agh! We hung out for awhile, found out our Luau was cancelled (surprise surprise) and then went to find some power. We were able to get some regular food, as opposed to our wonderful breakfast of fig newtons and raw ramen. Anyways, that's our sob story today....we'll see how it goes tommorrow!

Hawaii is wet.

Very wet. But still fun! Today we went snorkeling whilst it rained. It was a little cloudy in the water, but otherwise we couldn't tell it was raining. The sun came out for about 15 minutes today! woo-hoo! Really. We went shopping today and got some yummy chocolate macadamia nuts for those of you we like. haha. We got a free mug too! Highlight of my day, folks. But let's rewind to Saturday shall we? Our flight was scheduled to take off at 11:10 AM. So we got there around 10, expecting to wait about 45 minutes or so at the gate. We find out it's been delayed about 2 hours, and that's not such a huge deal we suppose. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS later we finally boarded the plane. AHHH! It was not cool, in Rory's words. We were bored and tired. By the time we landed in Hawaii, it was pitch black. Kind of weird to drive around on an island at night when you haven't seen it during the day! LOL. But we got to our condo safe and sound, so it wasn't too bad. Anyways, more posts later if we feel like it! Pray for some sun please?
