Another post about pumpkins

Pumpkin carving time! ohh yeah. We gathered at my parents house for our semi-annual pumpkin carving day (the other is in April...but the pumpkins are kinda hard to find) haha. We covered the table with plastic and carved away! Guts, seeds, and slimy stuff were flying everywhere! Gotta love it. We all chose our designs; an American flag for Jordan and Janae, a cute kitty face for Julia, a sideways pumpkin for Josh, a funny face for Rory, a pirahna (sp?) pumpkin for Joanna, and a Boston terrier for Jessica. It was ambitious but way fun! We all fought over the ONE pumpkin carving tool. Yeah. You would think in a family of 10 we would have more. tehe. Anyways, here are some pics!

Left to Right: Joshie, Julia, Jessica, Rory, Jordan & Janae, and Joanna's pumpkins.

Rory looks like he's having fun!

Pumpkin Patch!

I haven't been to the pumpkin patch since I was probably about 11-ish. So I really wanted to go this year and we did! We went with my family and Chris, Cassy, and Rayne came too. Cassy and I were really more preoccupied with taking lots of pictures as we are both avid scrapbookers. It was VERY warm for the end of October, even in California! There was an awesome blue sky though! (great for pictures *wink wink*) Here are a few!

Three cuties, get a mini cutie for free!

Farewell Justin!

Well, the time came for Justin to leave for two years on his mission to Ireland. I have one brother already on a mission in England, but didn't get to see him off. It was fun to be able to go to Justin's farewell and open house and spend some quality time before he left. We all got weepy at the airport...of course. I'll miss you buddy!

San Francisco Trip

Before Justin took off for Ireland on his mission for the LDS church, he wanted to visit San Francisco for one last hurrah. So Joanna, Justin, and I took off one morning and visited the aquarium, wax museum, and wharf all in one day! We also managed to get extremely lost and embarassed to call ourselves Californians. Well, hey-we do know our way around San Jose! Here are some of the day's highlights!

I've always wanted to eat at Bubba Gump! Finally I can die happy....er just kidding.

Petting the sting rays. They were seriously so cute, Joanna wanted to have one for a pet!

Photo Spot?! Well, ok!

We are huge Prison Break fans, so we wanted to visit Alcatraz again, no go...so how about a pic?

Follow the yellow brick road!

Scrapbooking

Ally-Cat!

We finally got a kitty! We've wanted one ever since we've been married, but everywhere we've lived so far hasn't really allowed pets. So...we were meeting some friends for lunch, and we were a little early, and decided to look at the cute animals at the Petco store. Well, the rest is history. A few hours later, we were the proud parents of Ally, a diluted tortoiseshell kitten, some cat toys, a Petco customer card, and a lot of cat food. It's been great! We love having her around, she is so cute and learns quickly. She likes to hide under our bed...well, under ANYTHING actually. It's cute, until we can't find her and literally have to turn the house upside down. She just LOVES the space and likes to roam around meowing her head off. Stay tuned for more Ally antics!

First Blog!

After hearing about blogs, reading them, and being bombarded with websites to use...I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon! Besides, it's easier than me trying to keep an actual journal. Like get out a pen, and everything! Sheesh, too much work! So...I am gonna backtrack a little, post about some past events, but not too long ago...so I won't bore you! Here's a recap: Rory and I are living in California now, after going to school and living in Utah for the past three years. We are so glad to be back near family! It was hard...I got homesick a lot. We just celebrated our fourth anniversary in August. It's hard to believe we've been married that long, but time flies when you're having fun! So...yeah. Broke the ice there with that FIRST BLOG. yay!
